SYDNEY: Ford has unveiled 2015 Ranger pickup comes with new face, made even more prominent now with a bigger front grille. Ford has staged the world premiere of the face lifted Ranger at the 2015 Bangkok International Motor Show.

The interior has also been lightly tweaked to accommodate new TFT screens, one of them being able to operate the brand’s latest Sync2 in-car connectivity system. Driver-assist tech like lane-keeping system now comes to the Ranger.

Although the 200hp 3.2-litre five-cylinder and 150hp 2.2-litre four-pot diesel-turbo engines have been carried over, the Ranger now gets automatic stop/start to reduce fuel consumption by 3.5%.

Ford says the chassis has also been tweaked in a bid to improve ride comfort while still maintaining the handling levels the Ranger boasts over its competitors like the Toyota Hilux Vigo, which will enter a new generation when it makes its global debut in Thailand mid-May.

Pricing for the new Ranger has yet to be revealed, although expect it to be very similar to today’s prices ranging from 764,000 to 1.124 million baht for the four-door, double-cab model.
