Ford’s sales fall 6% in China

BEIJING: US automaker Ford saw its July sales fall 6 percent year-on-year to 77,100 vehicles in China. Its sales in the first seven months stood at 620,588 units in the country, a 1 percent slip from the same period last year.

Its joint venture Changan Ford, which produces passenger vehicles, sold 57,748 units in the month, a 4 percent fall year-on-year. Its sales in the seven months totaled 454,723 units, a 0.4 percent fall from the same period last year.

Ford’s partner JMC, which produces Ford’s commercial vehicles, moved 17,109 vehicles in July, a 12 percent fall from the same month last year. However, its sales from January to July inched up one percent year-on-year to 150,763 vehicles.
