Forex reserves increase by US$120.7m

KARACHI: Pakistan s Forex Reserves increased by USD 54.90 million or 0.34% and the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at USD16,048.10 million on Dec 06, 2019.

According to data published by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) its reserves increased by US$120.70million.

Furthermore, the SBP disclosed that during the week ending Dec 06, 2019 it made a repayment of Pakistan International Sukuk of US$1,000 million. In addition to that, the SBP received US$1,300 million from Asian Development Bank. These funds will be part of the SBP weekly reserves data as of Dec 13,2019 to be released on Dec 19, 2019.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

  1. i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$9,233.6 million
  2. ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 6,814.5 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 16,048.1 million
