Four anti–smuggling mobile squads start performing duties from today

LAHORE: Newly formed four anti-smuggling mobile squads of Collectorate of Customs Preventive starts performing their duties from Saturday (today).

Sources told Customs Today that these anti-smuggling squads comprising 56 personnel, which includes 14 customs inspectors, while Inspector Amjad Khan is appointed as head of these squads. Anti smuggling squad no. 1 is included three inspectors. Anti smuggling squad no. 2 is headed by Customs Inspector Shahid Bakhtiar Bhatti, while Inspector Abdul Rehman Butt, Farooq Aslam, Javed Butt are also part of this squad. Inspector Gulzar Bhatti is the incharge of anti smuggling squad no. 3 which included Inspector Mansoor Elahi, Aslam Chaudhary and 15 other sepoys.

The fourth anti smuggling squad is headed by Inspector Sajjad Hussain Bokhari which also included Isnpector Mujahid Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Syed Shahzad Ali and 13 other sepoys.

Sources told that these mobile squads will perform their duties at GT Road, Motorways and main commercial markets of the city. Sources told that Collector Customs Preventive Faiz Ahmad already directed all anti smuggling staff to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling. In his direction he said that any one who found involved in smuggling will be dealt with iron hands.
