The police busted a drug network in Brunssum, Limburg. Four men were arrested for trading drugs on the dark web, and sending drugs all across the world through the regular postal service, the Public Prosecutor announced.
This investigation was launched after PostNL found drugs in packages during a drug check. According to the Prosecutor, the suspects had clients all over the world and sent drugs, mostly ecstasy, to their clients in normal postal packages and envelopes.
The authorities searched multiple homes and businesses on Tuesday. In one of the homes, the investigators found a production line for pills. With the aid of specialists from Defense, hidden areas containing drugs were found. Dozens of bags containing a total of tens of thousands of pills, several kilograms of hash and weed, but also heroin and cocaine, were found and confiscated. The drugs were tested and destroyed.
The suspects, men aged 24, 27, 35 and 53 years all from Brunssum, will be arraigned on Friday. They are suspected of, among other things, drug trafficking and money laundering.
