MELBOURNE: Volkswagen has unveiled teaser sketches of new concept and next-generation four-door coupe Volkswagen CC a head of Geneva Motor Show.
Volkswagen has not published details of the concept. Similarly, the Wolfsburg-based automaker is keeping full technical details under wraps for the time being, saying only that the CC is powered by a hybrid drive train that uses a four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to spin all four wheels.
The lack of official information also means that the new show-car cannot yet be confirmed as a preview of the new CC – and, in fact, it could even be our first look at a new and more stylish Phaeton.
The general proportions shown in these sketches hints at a mid-sized car, however, suggesting that the new Passat sedan’s sleek twin is at last one its way.
VW has also confirmed the concept will preview a new design language for the brand, although, apart from the tall new grille design, these sketches suggest we’ll see more of an evolution than a revolution.
“This concept is based on Volkswagen design DNA, which has been visibly sharpened even more. It shows how the highest-volume brand of our Group is shaping the immediate future.
