Four ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Jazan, M.V Saratov, M.T Bneider and M.T Gas Esco carrying containers, 35,400 tonnes coal, 54,812 tonnes diesel oil and 3,841 tonnes LPG, took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, multi-Purpose Terminal (MW-2), FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile four more ships MSC Pina, UASC Al-Khor, Northern Monument and Sea Delta with Containers and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 47% on Monday where a total of seven ships namely, Jazan, Saratov, Ikan Senyur, Bottiglieri Ambition, Gas Esco, Gas Chem Adriatic and Bneider were occupied at PQA berth to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 62,246 tonnes, comprising 49,896 tonnes import cargo and 12,350 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,543 containers (TEUs) ( 893 imports TUEs & 650 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Gas carrier ‘Gas Chem Adritic’ and container vessel ‘Jazan’ sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another Gas carrier Gas Esco is expected to sail on same day (today).

Four ships C.V Northern Monument, C.V MSC Pina, C.V UASC Al-Khor and M.T Sea Delta carrying Containers and Chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal (Berth # 5,7 & 9) and Engro Terminal respectvely on Tuesday, while a bulk cargo carrier calimero is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and container vessel MSC Valencia is due to arrive on Wednesday,5th April-2017.
