Fourteen tankers filled with Iranian diesel priced at Rs24m impounded by Customs Quetta

QUETTA: The MCC Quetta took into possession 14 NDP vehicles along with 28,400 liters of Iranian smuggling diesel valued at Rs24.00million from Bolan region during first week of January of Fiscal Year 2017-18.

According to details given by sources of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta that a tip-off was passed by Collector of Customs Ashraf Ali to the Additional Collector Zubair Shah and Deputy Collector Preventive Maqbool Baloch that an attempt would be made to smuggle Non-Duty-Duty Paid (NDP) Hino trucks from Bolan regions.
The ASO Quetta made an execution on above said information and impounded 14 NDP Hino vehicles and registered FIRs against the possessors of NDP vehicles in line with the Customs Act-1069 and shifted them to the State Ware House. The cases against above said vehicles have been transferred to the Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Department for further action.
In another action, the ASO Quetta seized 28,400 liter of smuggling Iranian origin diesel worth Rs2.044million in the local market. The ASO took into possession NDP vehicles and smuggling diesel jointly with the assistance of the Frontier Corps (FC) and Sibi Scouts. Custom Check-Post Bolan/Kolpur Darakhshan
Superintendent Saeed Baloch, Deputy Superintendent Maqsood Durrani, Inspectors Shabir Khan, Sobhabt Kurd Essa Khan, Ghulamo, Masroor Mangel, Ishaq George and Hawaldar Taj Meer took part in impounding of Iranian diesel and 14 NDP vehicles during first week of January FY17-18.
