FPCCI announces election schedule for selecting Board of Director

SIALKOT: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCC) has announced the schedule of elections of the Board of Directors for its business councils.

The business councils will be selected for different countries including Pakistan – Australia, Pakistan – Belarus, Pakistan – Bahrain, Pakistan – Bangladesh, Pakistan – Central African Republic, Pakistan – Czech Republic, Pakistan – China, Pakistan – Egypt, Pakistan – France, Pakistan – Germany, Pakistan – Italy, Pakistan – Indonesia, Pakistan-Iran, Pakistan-Japan, Pakistan – Korea, Pakistan – Malaysia, Pakistan-Morocco, Pakistan – Oman, Pakistan – Portugal, Pakistan-Poland, Pakistan – Qatar, Pakistan – Russia, Pakistan – Spain, Pakistan – South Africa, Pakistan – Saudi Arabia, Pakistan – Sri Lanka, Pakistan – Thailand, Pakistan – Turkey, Pakistan – Tajikistan, Pakistan – UAE, Pakistan – UK, Pakistan – USA, Pakistan – Ukraine and Pakistan – Vietnam.

According to the FPCCI’s acting general secretary Maher Alam Khan, the election schedule is spread over starting from January 16, 2016 to March 7, 2016. Each Business Council will have a 9 member of Board of Directors formed through elections process by the number of the concerned business council. Elections will however be held of only those business councils, which have membership of 20 or more.

The business councils of FPCCI with different countries have been playing a vital role in promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations with the respective countries. They also facilitate the members in identifying and exploring new opportunities and joint ventures/possibilities, besides organizing participations in trade, fair and exhibitions and visit of trade delegations. Moreover, details of the Business Councils are available on FPCCI website, he added.
