FPCCI expresses concern over ban on imported medicines, skin care products

KARACHI: With the reference to SRO 412/2014 by Drug Regulatory Authority, Aamir Iqbal, senior vice chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Health Care, appealed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister, Minister of National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar to take notice of ban on the sale of skincare products, food supplements, herbal, traditional, Chinese and other imported medicines.

He said that the ban could not only affect the patients but also encourage smuggling and spurious drugs. He said that the category of cosmetic products have already been classified in international custom tariffs and import policies.
