FPCCI felicitates nation, Pak Army on one year of Marka-e-Haq

LAHORE: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Indsutry (FPCCI) and United Business Group (UBG) Saturday felicitated the entire nation, the government and Pakistan Armed Forces on completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq.

heartfelt felicitations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, ISPR DG Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, and the entire nation.

They remarked that unprecedented respect and recognition earned by Pakistan and the Green Passport following Marka-e-Haq have elevated the country’s global stature like never before. They prayed that Almighty Allah continues to bless the armed forces of Pakistan with further success and glory.

While addressing a ceremony held here in connection with World Thalassemia Day, Zaki Aijaz and S.M. Tanveer stated that Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder that requires extensive public awareness and preventive measures.

They assured that FPCCI remains fully committed to supporting healthcare and welfare initiatives and encourages industries, chambers, and corporate organizations to actively participate in blood donation drives, patient support programmes and awareness campaigns.

They highlighted the critical importance of marriage screening and public awareness, stating that awareness remains the most powerful tool in combating this disease.

On this occasion, Punjab Health Services Director General Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that cousin marriages must be discouraged in order to effectively prevent thalassemia, adding that collective and united efforts can help eradicate the disease from society.
