FPCCI VP Naima Ansari urges women entrepreneurs to make strong bonds

FAISALABAD: Women entrepreneurs should be encouraged to establish close links among themselves to increase export of nontraditional items and exotic handicrafts from Pakistan, said Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Naima Ansari.

She was addressing a meeting in the FCCI on Thursday.

She said that women chambers have been established to tap the potential and women entrepreneurs, but they were restricted to major cities. She added that it was need of the hour to create viable linkages between women entrepreneurs from all over Pakistan.

“It is necessary to share the plus points of women entrepreneurs from major and small cities across the country,” she added.

She said that new exporters could provide their exportable products on credit to female entrepreneurs for its display in foreign exhibitions. “This will be a win-win situation for both of them with added dividend of the promotion of soft image of Pakistan,” she remarked.

Earlier, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Rizwan Ashraf welcomed the FPCCI vice president and said that Pakistan got international awards like Nobel and Oscar with the courtesy of its women. He, however, stressed the need to work in social sector with a focus on education and health.  He said that Pakistani women have excelled under most discouraging circumstances.

“We must support them to play their reinvigorated role in weeding out poverty and illiteracy from Pakistan,” he concluded.
