Fraud: Peshawar Customs lodges FIR against Pioneer Cement, custom clearance agent

PESHAWAR: Customs House Peshawar officials revealed that First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against staffers of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), Proprietor of Pioneer Cement and Custom Clearance agent who were found involved in frequently with fake export documents.

Revenue of the state misappropriated by Pioneer Cement pvt Limited Lahore, Qadaria Custom Clearing Agent and PRAL staff, sources disclosed.

Official sources said that the exporter with the convenience of PRAL staff and custom clearing agent fed quantity of 1323m ton of the cement in the one custom system through 07 fake GDs valuing $63504. Sources added that by doing so the Pioneer Cement caused revenue loss to the national exchequer worth of $159 as export development surcharge and $635 as withholding tax at export stage and also deprived the national exchequer from foreign exchange $63504 by disposing of the export goods in the domestic market.

However, sources said that the exporter and his accomplices have been found in association with each other in the commission of fiscal fraud. Sources added that Murasila has been sent for the registration of FIR against Pioneer Cement Lahore, Proprietor of Qadaria Custom clearing Agent and PRAL staffer at Custom Station Torkham.

An official of custom House Peshawar told Customs today on the condition of anonymity that PRAL staffers who were involved in fraud had deployed since long time at Custom Station Torkham who used illegally Customs computer of and make able export cement with fake documents of flying export.
