TORONTO:  Freight centre expanded its freight service offerings to include cross-border and intra-Canada transportation. The new offerings consist of customs clearance services, improved less-than-truckload rates and transit times, and more carrier choices.

Earlier this month, the company reached an agreement with Canada-based customs brokerage, Willson International, which helps shippers prepare required paperwork and process duty fees for customs clearance between the US and Canada.

Service expansion to Canada is a vital part of our overall North American strategy and future growth. Willson International will be a great addition to our network of partnerships with leading freight service and technology providers,” said Matthew J. Brosious, CEO of FreightCenter.

When booking a shipment to or from the US and Canada, FreightCenter customers can choose Willson as the preferred customs broker or choose their own. Although customs clearance procedures are handled by this third-party, the partnership with Willson allows for a seamless cross-border shipping process.

Anticipating a high demand for cross-border freight services, FreightCenter has pre-established volume-discounted rates, reduced transit times and added service options with freight carriers that service all of North America.

Based out of the Tampa Bay area since 1998, FreightCenter is a third-party freight and logistics company developing web-based technology that simplifies freight shipping for both individual shippers and businesses. FreightCenter offers instant carrier rates and services for LTL, truckload, international, specialized, intermodal and trade show transportation, as well as a freight shipping calculator for e-commerce and API integration for online shopping carts.
