ISLAMABAD: French Ambassador to Pakistan Martine Dorance called on Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Finance Ministry on Thursday.
Welcoming the French envoy, the minister said that France had been a great friend and trusted partner of Pakistan and supported it at many international forums. Dorance said, “France has many things to offer to Pakistan. We want to enhance the opportunities of bilateral trade and investment through business opportunity conferences where investors from both the countries could meet each other and take decisions for promoting their business.”

Ambassador Martine told the finance minister that France was going to arrange an event on climate change in November 2015 and invited representatives from Pakistan to attend the event to apprise the world of its contributions for reduction in carbon dioxide emission. She also invited the finance minister to grace the event, which would afford him an opportunity to attend the investors’ roadshows at the same time in Europe. Ishaq Dar said that the Finance Ministry intended to strengthen Pakistan-France economic ties by facilitating business-to-business contacts and promoting exchange visits.
