ISLAMABAD: About 340,641 metric ton of fruit worth $259.174 million exported during first seven months of current financial year as compared to the exports of the corresponding period during last year.
During the period from July-January, 2016-17 fruit exports from the country registered about 0.76 percent increase as compared to the exports of same period during last year.
According to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, fruit exports from the country in first seven months during last financial year were recorded at 413,753 metric ton valuing $257.213 million.
Meanwhile, about 275,700 metric ton of vegetables worth $81.494 million exported during first seven months as compared to the exports of 351,489 metric ton valuing $102.147 million of the same period during last year.
In first seven months of current financial year, vegetables exports from the country decreased by 20.22 percent as compared to the same period during last year.
During the period under review about 15,395 metric ton of oil seeds, nuts and kernals valuing 22.996 million exported as compared to the exports of 12,536 metric ton valuing $17.09 million of corresponding period during last year.
