FST adjourns hearing of several cases filed by FBR employees challenging administrative measures

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) heard a number of cases challenging administrative measures of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) during the last week of November.

The division benches of the FST comprising Chairman (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Syed Muhammad Hamid; Ishtiaq Ahmed and Dr Nazir Saeed; and Member Rafique Shah and Dr Nazir heard the cases filed by the FBR employees.

FST division bench comprising Members, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Dr Nazir Saeed heard the cases about promotion and adjourned for first week of December. The bench directed the counsels to assist the bench on the cases with provision of further details of cases. The bench asked the sides to present the detailed archival record on the cases.

Inam ul Haq, Muhammad Moosa Jamali, Inayatullah Khattak, Dost Muhammad, Ajmal Khan, Muhammad Haroon Khattak and Wasat ullah Jaffari had filed the complaints.

Member Rafique Shah and Dr Nazir heard five complaints carrying matter about ‘promotion’. Ghulam Akbar Chandio, Sohail Ahmed Qureshi, Sajjad Ahmed, Saleem Akbar and Ch Muhammad Aslam had filed these cases.

They had filed cases challenging administrative measures taken by the board regarding promotion of appellants. The appellants asked the tribunal to take notice of undue delay regarding their promotion by the board and issue necessary directives to the board in their cases.

Another FST bench comprising Chairman (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Syed Muhammad Hamid adjourned hearing of a reference filed by Muhammad Shafique.

The appellant is an employee of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and had filed complaint about correction of record at the board.
