ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Federal Service Tribunal (FST) would start hearing of cases filed against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on coming Monday.
The FST benches comprising Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed M Hamid; and Ishtiaq Ahmed and M Javed Iqbal Kasi, would hear complaints about ‘reversion’, ‘implementation’ and ‘increment’ filed by employees of the FBR.
Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed M Hamid would hear the case filed by Jan Muhammad Afridi. The appellant had named Regional Tax Office the respondent in the case filed during 2012 and was pending for a decision. The appellant’s submission carried ‘implementation’ matter.
Ishtiaq Ahmed and M Javed Iqbal Kasi will resume hearing of cases filed by Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Ishtiaque and Aurangzeb challenging reversion. They had filed their cases in 2016.
Another appellant had filed complaint about implementation by Syed Sultan Abbas. Same bench heard the cases asking the tribunal to ensure implementation over its earlier announced decision which was not yet compiled by the board authorities.
On the last hearing, benches had directed the concerned counsels, appellants and defendants, to submit documents and brief on arguments before the tribunal before next hearing.
It is pertinent to mention that some of FST benches were not working during last week of 2016 owing to winter vacation.
However, these benches had resumed hearing at the tribunal and now they would hearings at the tribunal. During the last week only one bench had sustained hearings for whole of the week.
