The bench was hearing the cases filed by Immad Alam, Ajmail Khan, Imran Rafique and Mehdi Hassan. Immad Alam had filed a case about ‘seniority’; Ajmal Khan and Imran Rafique had filed a complaint on ‘dismissal’ and Mehdi Hassan had filed a case about ‘seniority’.

The bench also adjourned hearing of ‘promotion’ cases filed by Amjad Farooq, Naveed Ali Khan, Shahzad Muhammad Aamir, Gohar Ali, Asim Muhammad, Mehboob Ali, Waqar Ahmed, Sayyar Ahmed, Khan Hameed, Adam Khan, Noor Hussain, Muhammad Mukhtiar and others. These appellants had also submitted complaints about promotion.

They had prayed the tribunal to direct the board in order ensure provision of justice to them. They had complained that the board had violated rules of FBR by not promoting them to the due scales and offices.

They had submitted that they were being kept deprived of their right to promotion despite serving at the department for years. They pleaded the tribunal to direct the board on ensuring their promotion to due scales entitled to them by law.
