ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Federal Service Tribunal (FST) to hear couple of complaints on Monday filed by employees of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The FST division bench comprising members, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed Muhammad Hamid, will hear petitions filed by the FBR employees Sajjad Haider and Muhammad Shafiq. The bench adjourned the hearing of cases till next Monday.

Former appellant had asked the tribunal to direct the FBR administration on ‘extension of study leave’ while the later had submitted a plea pertaining to ‘correction of date of birth’.

The bench also issued directives to counsels involved to ensure their presence before the bench on next hearing. Hearing was adjourned owing to absence of one of the counsels.

It is pertinent to mention here that both cases had been filed during 2016 and yet no objection had been filed by the department on the said petitions seeking extension of study leave as per rule made for government servants.

Meanwhile, the FST division bench comprising tribunal’s chairman Justice (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Member Javed Iqbal Kasi adjourned hearing of a complaint seeking action against Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

FST division bench was hearing a case filed by FBR employee, Nawab Khan, for protection of his salary. He had asked the tribunal to decide the fate of his complaint seeking directives for the board not to upsetting monthly payments after initiation of an internal inquiry against him.

Khan had submitted his complaint in 2015. The department had filed objections over the case. After hearing the case for brief, the bench adjourned hearing.

Meanwhile, another bench of FST division bench comprising members, Syed Rafique Hussain Shah and Dr Nazir Saeed simply dated in office hearing of cases carrying complaints about seniority and implementation by the FBR.

Appellants M Taimur and M Jamil filed petitions regarding implementation of FST decisions by the FBR. They had been granted their due promotion but yet the FBR had not implemented tribunal’s orders in letter and spirit. They had pleaded the tribunal to ensure implementation over its earlier given decisions.

The bench also heard Shafqat Mahmud’s complaint about ‘promotion’; Khalid Mehmood’s case of ‘seniority’; Ghulafm Ishaq Kiyani and Ataur Rehman’s cases on ‘withholding of two annual increments’.
