FST bench hears 40 complaints filed by FBR employees during 3rd week of April

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal heard a number of cases involving the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) during third week of April and issue notices.  The notices were served on the FBR and others in cases seeking to grant more time.

The FST bench comprising of Syed Rafique Hussain, Syed Muhammad Hamid heard the cases filed by the FBR employees. Around 40 appellants had filed complaints regarding grant of time-scale including Mansoor Ahmed, Nadeem Khan, Khuram Azam, Babar Ahmed, Naheed Sultana and others.

They had submitted that board administration had not heard their petition in this regard. Hence, the tribunal may issue an appropriate direction to the board in this regard.

Meanwhile, the bench also heard a promotion matter filed by M Iqbal.  Hearing on this case was adjourned by the bench.  M Iqbal had filed an implementation matter which was pending before the tribunal since months.

ANother bench heard cases filed by Immad Alam and Mehdi Hassan. Immad Alam had filed a case about ‘seniority’; and Mehdi Hassan had filed a case about ‘seniority’.

The bench had also heard ‘promotion’ cases filed by Amjad Farooq, Naveed Ali Khan, Shahzad Muhammad Aamir, Gohar Ali, Asim Muhammad, Mehboob Ali, Waqar Ahmed, Sayyar Ahmed, Khan Hameed, Adam Khan, Noor Hussain, Muhammad Mukhtiar and others. These appellants had also submitted complaints about promotion. They had prayed the tribunal to direct the board in order ensure provision of justice to them.

They had submitted that they were being kept deprived of their right to promotion despite serving at the department for years. They pleaded the tribunal to direct the board on ensuring their promotion to due scales entitled to them by law.

They had complained that the board had violated rules of FBR by not promoting them to the due scales and offices.
