ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Federal Service Tribunal on Monday heard cases carrying promotion, withholding of three increments and implementation complaints against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Syed Rafique Hussain and Dr Nazir Saeed heard Abdul Hakim Khan’s petition on ‘implementation’, Abida Aslam Rathore’s case on reversion, Shafqat Rasool Sindhu’s submission on censure, and Aleem Ahmed’s case about his seniority.

After hearing brief arguments, the bench directed the counsels to conclude their arguments on the next date of hearing and then dated in office the hearings on the cases.

The bench also heard cases filed by M Waheed, Anjum Rasheed, Waseem Iqbal, Anjum Waheed, Said Hussain Abbasi and Abdul Sattar.

Waseem Iqbal, Anjum Waheed, and Said Hussain Abbasi had filed complaints on ‘implementation’ while Abdul Sattar had submitted a complaint about ‘withholding of three increments’.

Meanwhile, another bench of FST, comprising Ishtiaq Ahmed and M Javed Iqbal Kasi simply dated in office hearing of several other complaints.

The cases were filed by Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Ishtiaque and Aurangzeb. They had filed these complaints challenging reversion. They had filed their cases in 2016.

Another appellant had filed complaint about implementation by Syed Sultan Abbas. Same bench heard the cases asking the tribunal to ensure implementation over its earlier announced decision which was not yet compiled by the board authorities.

The bench was likely to conclude hearings on the said cases in coming weeks. The bench had earlier directed the counsels to prepare for final arguments.
