FST issues fresh directions to parties on petitions filed by FBR employees

ISLAMABAD: Federal Service Tribunal issued fresh directions to parties while hearing cases challenging administrative measures pertaining to ‘seniority’ and ‘dismissal’ of some employees by authorities of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

A division bench of Federal Service Tribunal comprising Members, Syed Rafique Hussain Shah and Dr Nazir Saeed resumed hearing of references. Immad Alam, Ajmal Khan, Imran Rafique and Mehdi Hassan. Immad Alam had filed a case about ‘seniority’; Ajmal Khan and Imran Rafique had filed a complaint on ‘dismissal’; and Mehdi Hassan had filed a case about ‘seniority’ had submitted the cases.

The bench had also heard ‘promotion’ cases filed by Amjad Farooq, Naveed Ali Khan, Shahzad Muhammad Aamir, Gohar Ali, and others.  They had prayed the tribunal to direct the board in order ensure provision of justice to them.

They had submitted that they were being kept deprived of their right to promotion despite serving at the department for years. They pleaded the tribunal to direct the board on ensuring their promotion to due scales entitled to them by law.

They had complained that the board had violated rules of FBR by not promoting them to the due scales and offices.  Earlier, the tribunal had adjourned with directions to submit reply on certain matters to the FBR.
