ISLAMABAD:  Amid thin attendance of lawyers at the tribunal, the Federal Service Tribunal ‘dated in office’ the hearing of a couple of complaints filed against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday.

A division bench of the FST comprising members, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, had to hear the promotion complaints filed by M Asghar and Shoukat Durrani.

The tribunal adjourned hearing when the counsels from both sides did not appear before the court and bench was told that concerned lawyers had not reached the tribunal.

FBR employees had submitted their complaints against FBR pleading that they were not promoted to their due scales. They submitted that despite serving for years they had not been given their lawful benefit and promotion at the department.

The appellants had sought tribunals’ directives granting them promotion to their due scales higher than those they are working in currently.
