FTO adjourns hearing of case filed by Ali CNG until June 21

LAHORE: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has adjourned the hearing of a case filed by Ali CNG till June 21.

According to the details, Advisor of Federal Tax Ombudsman Muneeb Qurashi heard the case of Ali CNG in which the counsel for the appellant argued that the Regional Tax Office (RTO) failed to make payment of refund claims to Ali CNG since the last three years.

He said that Regional Tax Office has collected excessive tax from Ali CNG for the last three years and it approached many time before the Commissioner concerned for refunds but the RTO did not pay the refunds claims after the passage of reasonable time.

At the end we decided to approach Federal Tax Ombudsman to interfere in this case and direct Regional Tax Office to clear our refund claims.

On the other side Regional Tax Office representative argued that the appellant Ali CNG has not submitted the all record in the Regional Tax Office on the basis he claim for refunds. If appeallent provide accurate record in Regional Tax Office then RTO will check the record and refund the extra tax to Ali CNG after assessment.

After hearing the arguments from both sides the Adviser to Federal Tax Ombudsman Muneeb Qureshi adjourned the case till 21 June for Further hearing.
