FTO adjourns hearing of case filed by M/s Chenab Limited

FAISALABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Advisor has adjourned hearing of a case filed by M/s Chenab Limited against the Corporate Zone of Regional Tax Office (RTO) Faisalabad until the next hearing. The FTO will hear the case after one week.

According to the details, FTO Advisor Haji Irshad Ahmed Ali heard the case in which counsel for the appellant argued that the RTO Faisalabad had failed to release the sales tax refund of the previous years claimed by the company.

He said the RTO is collecting excessive tax from M/s Chenab Limited for the last year 2016. He approached the commissioner concerned many times for issuance of refunds. But the RTO officials did not pay refunds even after the passage of reasonable time.

After hearing arguments from both sides, FTO Adviser Haji Irshad Ahmed Ali adjourned the hearing of case filed by company until next date for further hearing and directed the parties to appear on said date to present arguments.
