FTO postpones hearing of case filed by Mughal Filling Station against RTO

LAHORE: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has adjourned the hearing of a case filed by proprietor of M/s Mughal Filling Station against Regional Tax Office (RTO), Gujranwala until the next hearing.

According to the details, Advisor to Federal Tax Ombudsman Mian Munawar Ghafoor heard the complaint number FTO-LHR/0000224/17 of Haroon Yousaf, proprietor of Mughal Filling Station, in which the counsel for the appellant argued that the respondents failed to make payment of tax refunds to the company.

At the end, the appellant decided to approach the FTO to interfere in the case as the RTO should have cleared the refund of excess collections by the end of year but it failed to do so.

On the other side, tax department representative argued that Gujranwala RTO ready to settle the refund claim issue, if appellant will provide accurate record of the case. He added that refunds will be issued after proper assessment and scrutiny of the record.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the advisor adjourned the hearing of the case until next date for further hearing and directed the parties to appear on said date for further hearing.
