FTO summons FBR chairman, secretary revenue on Jan 2

ISLAMABAD: Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has called Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Jahanzeb Khan and secretary revenue division to appear on January 2, 2019 with complete record, it is learnt here.

Official sources told Customs Today that the Pakistan Revenue Automation (Private) Limited (PRAL) is involved in malpractices in Active Taxpayers List where non-filers are facilitated as filers to buy properties and vehicles. A complaint was submitted by Zeeshan Shahid through Advocate Waheed Shahzad Butt that FBR denied his NTN and filer status even he is an active taxpayer.

Sources also added that Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) asked FBR to submit complete report regarding Active Taxpayers List, withholding tax (WHT) details from filers and non-filers and legal procedure for accessing citizen’s CNIC and issuance of NTN.
