The gathering, attended by officers and principals from various educational institutions across KP delved into the intricacies of taxation within the education sector.

Principals Riaz Ahmad Bahar and Samiullah Khalil led the delegation. They thanked the FTO officials for their swift response to tax-related issues and provision of legal assistance.

It was noted that FTO involvement had led to a review of taxation matters within the Tax Department.

Issues surrounding the tax rebates for teachers were effectively resolved due to the FTO collaboration. However, it was added that hurdles to the refund of taxes deducted without appropriate rebates persisted.

Sardar Ali Khawaja said that the FTO was vying to promptly address taxpayers’ concerns and provide them with legal support.

He said under guidance from FTO Dr Asif Mehmood Jah, matters concerning tax rebates for officials of schools and other institutes registered with the Federal Board of Revenue) and regularly filing annual tax returns would be expedited.

The adviser said rebates would be provided in line with legal provisions, with a focus on addressing pending tax refund issues from previous years.

Sardar Ali Khawaja said all regional offices of the FTO had been directed to prioritize the swift resolution of taxation matters.
