ISLAMABAD: The Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) has sought Rs3.41 per unit reduction for April under monthly fuel adjustment.

In a petition, the CCPA requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to slash power tariff Rs3.41 per unit on account of lower fuel prices. Official sources told APP here that in a petition, the CPPA submitted to the regulator that the average cost of electricity remained Rs4.21 per unit against the reference prices of Rs7.62 per unit.
It is further submitted that the average cost of generation from diesel remained at Rs11.85 per unit, Furnace Oil Rs5.38 per unit, Gas Rs 5.73 per unit and nuclear Rs1.16 per unit while total cost of electricity imported from Iran remained at Rs10.60 per unit. They said the Nepra would take up the petition on May 26.
