Prior to that, she spent 12 years with the Austin (Texas) Chamber of Commerce, lastly as senior vice president of global technology strategies. In her various roles there, she worked on business recruitment, started a business retention and expansion program, coordinated a regional tech startup program for the state and started a program for tech executives to support entrepreneurs.

Davenport has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas.
