KARACHI: The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has discovered gas from its exploration well Kabir X-1 in district Sanghar, Sindh.
The gas was discovered by the PPL, the operator of Gambat South Block, along with its joint venture partners. Kabir X-1 was spud on April 24, 2015 and reached the final depth of 4,020 meters on June 28 this year. Based on wire line logs, potential hydrocarbon bearing zones were identified in the Basal Sand of Lower Goru Formation.
Initial testing flowed 1.94mmscfd gas along with 253 bbl/d condensate at 16/64 inches choke size. Currently, well testing is underway to evaluate the potential of the discovery.
