KUALA LUMPUR: Gas Malaysia Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016 improved to RM49.77mil from RM43.56mil recorded in the same period last year. Revenue increased 22.5% to RM973.56mil in the period under review from RM795.01mil previously.

“The better performance is due to the upward revision of natural gas tariffs which took effect in January 2016 and higher volume of gas sold in the current quarter,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday.
