HONG KONG: Gatwick Airport will press ahead with plans to plough £1.2bn into a radical overhaul of its terminals over the next five years, despite losing out to Heathrow in the race to expand its capacity.

The Government’s decision to support Heathrow’s expansion scuppered hopes for a second runway at the East Sussex airport, but Gatwick boss Stewart Wingate said it would continue to grow after passenger numbers reached record levels over the summer.
