Gawadar Customs recovers 12kg charas worth Rs1m, nab 2 accused

KARACHI: The Gawadar Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle fine quality charas weighing 12 kilogram, worth Rs1 million and arrested 2 accused in an operation.

According to details, Collector Gawadar Customs Saeed Akram received a tip-off about transportation of narcotics in a car from Khar, Gawadar to Karachi. Saeed immediately constituted a special team of the Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Inspector Ghulam Rasool to foil the smuggling attempt.

The ASO team established check post at the exit points of the city and started checking vehicles. While checking, the ASO team intercepted a White colored Toyota Corolla XL with registration No: GA-3756. The ASO team searched the car and recovered 12 kilogram fine quality charas hidden beneath the seats of the car.

The ASO staff seized the recovered charas and arrested two accused.

After verification it was found that the registration No on the car was also fake.
