KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gawadar thwarted an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of foreign origin alcohol and charas.
Sources informed Customs Today that a customs team, under the supervision of deputy collector Aftab Ali Shah, which also includes superintendent preventive Mohammad Saleem and others, intercepted a Mazda truck at Khekhera check post and recovered 32 kilograms of charas and 50 bottles of foreign liquor.
Sources said that amount of seized contraband items is Rs 2.5 million. Customs team arrested the driver and his companion and registered a case of smuggling against them.
