KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gawadar seized huge quantity of electronic items during a successful crackdown.
Sources told Customs Today that seized items include LEDs, TVs, chassis of imported vehicles, three foreign assembled generators. Sources said that Customs authorities received a credible information regarding smuggling of above said items.
After receiving the tip of Customs formed a raiding team which intercepted a vehicle at Chaman Road and seized electronic items and arrested three accused persons who were later identified s Malik Zaman, and Safdar Khan.
During initial interrogation accused persons revealed that electronic goods were being smuggled to Karachi and other cities of the country. Further proceedings are sill underway.
