Gawadar Customs seizes Iranian diesel worth Rs1.3m

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gawadar seized Iranian origin diesel and arrested two offenders during an operation.

According to details, MCC Gawadar continues its crackdown on smuggling, especially Iranian origin diesel. In a recent operation, the customs authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle 22,000 liters of Iranian origin diesel.

Collector Gawadar Saeed Akram received a tip-off about an attempt to smuggle Iranian origin diesel. He immediately constituted a ASO team and directed them to foil smuggling attempt. The ASO team established various check posts at main entry and exit points of the city and started searching suspected vehicles. They intercepted a vehicle and recovered the smuggled diesel from oil tanker.

The customs authorities, after registering a case against the accused persons, seized the smuggled diesel along with offending vehicle. The market value of smuggled diesel is Rs1.3 million.
