GB Customs surpasses collection target with Rs60.49m extra duties & taxes during two months

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) generated Rs60.49million extra duties and taxes against the earmarked target for the 1st of July to 31st of August Financial Year (FY) 2017-18.

According to details explained by Akbar Jan, Assistant Collector GB, that Collectorate of GB was allocated the revenue target of Rs668.30million under the head of all duties and taxes while the GB collected Rs728.79million against the set revenue target under the same head.
He said the MCC GB received Rs132.93million more duties and taxes against the corresponding July to August FY16-17. The GB got Rs595.86million under all heads during July-August FY16-17 whereas it did Rs728.79million during July-August FY17-18.
The Assistant Collector told CT that the GB generated the revenue growth of 22.31 % during July-August FY17-18 against the same period of July to August FY16-17. He said the GB is working hard to meet its allocated target for the 1st quarter of FY2017-18 and Akbar Jan is optimistic that MCC GB will not only meet the earmarked target for the 1st quarter but will also surpass the target under all heads.
