GUJRAT: India is the first country in the world to make CSR spending mandatory for the private sector and this has brought lot of optimism for social development in our country. However, the Government is continuously grappling with the definition of what activities should fall under the ambit of CSR Provisions of the Companies Act, 2013. The list is constantly changing and the rules are still evolving. The first fiscal year (2014) for reporting CSR compliances has already ended, but there is still widespread confusion about what exactly counts as CSR.
Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in association with Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy, is organizing a seminar on “New Developments in CSR Provisions & its Legal Compliances” on April 24, 2015 (Friday) at GCCI Premises. The objective of the seminar is to demystify recent developments of CSR provisions and empower participants with sound working knowledge of the various do’s & don’ts under law. The seminar will also deal with Income Tax Exemption & Tax Deductions for Donors. Thus, the seminar will help the participants to stay legally and fiscally compliant and enhance their credibility and accountability towards social development.
