NEW YORK: Gearbox has released a trailer for Homeworld Remastered which showcases 4k resolution assets. The trailer was launched on Gearbox’s YouTube channel which shows a few spaceships, structures and backgrounds in the game. The trailer gives an idea of the work that has gone into remastering the title to make it playable on modern technology hardware. It also includes some of the cinematic scenes that play as an intro to the missions featured in the game.

Homeworld Remastered was first announced earlier this year at PAX South in San Antonio, Texas. Gearbox held a press conference and a panel in which they described the game as a remaster to Relic and Sierra entertainment original title Homeworld, released in 1999. The game uses Homeworld and Homeworld 2 original audio assets and the same art team is curating the graphical remaster in order to make sure that the result can stand the test of even the most passionate of fans. Homeworld Remastered will include updated high-res textures and models, new graphical effects, and support for HD, UHD, and 4K resolutions. Furthermore, multiplayer has been improved since its predecessors and has been combined into one centralized mode which provides players with a better way to interact with each other.

The game is scheduled for release on February 25, 2015 and will be available on PC. A collector’s edition pack can also be bought. Homeworld Remastered Collection Collector’s Edition comes in a physical box which includes a detailed art-book, a key-chain and an electric powered replica of the Mothership.  The digital download version of the game can be pre-ordered through Steam and will be on sale until February 24, the day before the game is officially released.
