Geneva Area Chamber announces new fall event in 2015

GENEVA :The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the addition of a new fall event that will showcase women in the workplace  the 2015 Women in Business Honoree Reception.The event will honor women’s contributions across many sectors of the business community. Women selected by the Chamber and community members will be featured at the reception where their career highlights, accolades and achievements will be celebrated.

“The main purpose that the committee sees for the 2015 Honoree Reception will be to serve as the kickoff event for showcasing women in both our personal and professional lives, while featuring their contributions and achievements within the many fields that make up our membership and community base,” said Mary Luckern, Chamber board member and chair of the Events Planning Committee.

The reception will replace former Chamber-sponsored events that awarded a single individual per year based on pre-selected criteria and guidelines. The new event will feature the achievements of women across many industries and categories, including agriculture, athletics, banking/finance, education/higher education, engineering, entrepreneurship, government, health care, human services, industrial advancements, mentoring, not-for-profits, science, the arts, tourism and hospitality, and young professionals.
