WASHINGTON: The Georgia Ports Authority sent disaster relief supplies in the international language of ports: shipping containers. Port Houston received four 20-foot containers filled with disaster relief supplies to assist its employees whose homes were flooded by Hurricane Harvey. The containers arrived by trucks.
The donations came from the Georgia Ports Authority, maritime organizations and the greater Savannah community. Port Houston employees will sort through the goods and distribute them to colleagues and others in the community.
