BERLIN: The German sports betting body, Deutschen Sportwettenverbands, has called for a resolution to the process to award the country’s sports betting licences after claiming that private operators paid almost all of the tax raised from betting activities in 2014.
The DSWV cited figures published by Germany’s Ministry of Finance which revealed that betting turnover in Germany increased by 18 per cent to €4.5bn last year, up from €3.8bn in 2013.
