BERLIN: German tax receipts rose by 4.1 per cent in January compared to the same month last year, the leading Handelsblatt business newspaper reported Friday, citing the Finance Ministry.
Income tax from employees rose the most, increasing 5.9 per cent in January 2015 compared with the same month in 2014.
The constant upward trend continues,” the newspaper quoted a source at the ministry as saying. The one area to see a decrease was the tax on interest payments, which fell by 38 per cent. It was described by the ministry as “surprisingly significant.”
