YAOUNDE: Germany and Israel are cooperating in order to boost production and grow the market for mangoes in Cameroon. The two partners are currently working towards this goal in cooperation with the Cameroonian Ministry of Agriculture.

Deputy Managing Director of Mashav, the Israeli International Development Agency, Yuval Fuchs, has just completed a visit to Cameroon where the plan was launched.

According to details, Yuval visited to enquire about the progress of a project for the creation of plant nurseries meant to produce about 400,000 mango and pumpkin plants in the towns of Mbankomo and Binguela, in the Central region.

These seedlings will be distributed to producers, with the ambition of significantly increasing the production volumes of mangoes in Cameroon; a country where these fruits are abundant during the mango season, then are rarely seen once this season is over.
