Global Entrepreneurship Week concludes at RCCI

RAWALPINDI: Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) will help students to focus themselves on job creators instead of job seekers. It’s a great opportunity for youth to participate in interactive sessions, training workshops to learn about success stories, innovative ideas and enhance their knowledge about entrepreneurship.

These remarks were made by speakers at the closing ceremony of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here.

Malik Shahid Saleem, President RCCI, in his address said that RCCI has taken the initiative to be a part of global entrepreneurship week as a step to facilitate youth, develop stronger private sector, assist the innovators and support the idea of entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. He emphasized on universities to provide such opportunities so that students can polish their skills and knowledge about entrepreneurship.

Students now are very keen to learn E-commerce, mobile apps and blogging. He asked students to develop skills and knowledge and contribute to the prosperity of their country.

“We hope that our efforts of strengthening Industry – Academia linkages will prove to be fruitful and we will see better and more entrepreneurs in future”, he further added.

Guest speaker, Tahir Mahmood Chaudhry, President and CEO Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship said that commitment, ethics, and good governance are the need of hour and Pakistan needs full support of the business community to foster entrepreneurship.

Former presidents Suhail Altaf, SM Naseem, Kashif Shabbir, Raja Amir Iqbal, Dr. Shamail Daud in their address discussed various aspects of entrepreneurship, financing, entrepreneurial culture, innovation and business technology leadership and corporatization in Pakistan. Speakers also discussed the key impediments being faced by the aspiring entrepreneurs in Pakistan and also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship for economic development of the country. They also shared the success stories of key brands and businessmen from Pothwar region.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Badar Haroon, Vice President Fayyaz Qureshi, members of the executive committee and a large number of universities students attended the session. Later president RCCI performed a cake cutting ceremony.
