NEW YORK: In what can be called a global study of reasons for species extinction, the major culprit remains global warming.
Mark Urban, associate professor of ecology at the University of Connecticut, in the current study published in the journal, Science, has amalgamated results from 131 extinction studies using statistical techniques. His is, therefore, the best estimate of causes attributable to species extinction, averaging varied factors for diverse studies.
