GOA: The air intelligence unit of Goa Customs seized unclaimed gold weighing 349 grams amounting to Rs 8.60 lakh which was hidden under a passenger seat in the Aircraft.
The Joint Commissioner of Customs and Central excise, Goa, S K Sinha, informed that, the seizure was made after a team of customs officials in presence of Airline Security staff were carrying out routine search inside Air India flight AI-994, that had arrived in Goa from Dubai.
The officials found 3 biscuits, each 10 tolas, hidden under the seat. A case against unknown persons has been booked under Section 135 of the Customs Act and further investigation is in process.
