Gold, cash was handed over to Abdul Basit after security clearance

LAHORE: An accused who was booked by the Customs Collectorate Preventive at the Lahore Airport while he was carrying heavy quantity of gold and foreign currency. His influence shows that he has backing of some powerful shots who are also involved in Pakistani politics.

Sources of Customs Today said that Abdul Basit was simply a carrier only genuine entity behind him has heavy influence at Lahore Airport. Gold and currency that was more than Rs 33 million were handed over to him after security clearance, which shows that the airport security and other relevant staff was taken into confidence before this act.  His relatives are running a canteen at Allama Iqbal International Airport sources revealed.
